Andréya Ouamba is pioneering in the modern dance of Senegal. His improvisations are dialogues with the body and the movement in a sharpened, shattered, very precise gesture language. With his company “Premier Temps”, he “decomposes” traditional dance steps and translates lifestyles, awareness of life or life prospects into body language. On the other hand, his solo conceived on invitation Avignon, lives on the here and now. “Take It Away” arises at every performance newly and differently. Opiyo Okach did the choreography. His starting point is the empty room, the inspiration of the place, its energies, the music and the attenders. In their “gallery impressions”, the two explore the rocky garden together with eight dancers of their companies. While dancing, they are less interested in each other than in the presence between and beyond them. They do not tell any stories, they let us experience the space and the moment intensively and invite everybody: Come! Come to the Unconfined…
