Dream Machine

Germany

Premiere
At Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz there is a phone booth. Only it’s not a phone booth: it’s a dream machine. Here the public can leave their personal dream memories, wishes and desires as voice messages in any language. These will become part of a growing archive that will then be turned into a polyphonic musical composition.

Starting from a monologue by author Matin Soofipour Omam, three musicians and an actor will journey through the unconscious in search of new kinds of contactless connection for these physically distanced times, overcoming boundaries between dream and reality, song and spoken word, electronica and jazz. Visitors can record their voices in the Dream Machine at Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz at any time during the festival.
